We offer financial and practical support so that more children and young people (under 18) can take part in hobbies and leisure activities.

• support is granted and administered by the association, where necessary in cooperation with the wellbeing services county
How we target our support
Tasavertainen lapsuus ry directs its support to children and families whose opportunities to participate in hobbies and culture are limited by financial or other everyday challenges.
Defining the target group
Support is primarily based on families’ own assessment of their situation. We do not require certificates, and aim to make applying as accessible as possible.
In an application, we take into account, for example:
– the family’s financial situation
– single parenthood
– a family with several children
– unemployment or sick leave
– an immigrant background or a new life situation
– the family’s own description of their situation
Trust and assessment
Our work is based on trust and reasonable discretion.
We assess each application as a whole and reserve the right to request additional information where necessary.
Prioritisation
If there are more applications than resources, we prioritise:
– children who do not currently have a hobby
– families in the weakest financial position
– children who have not previously received support
– an equitable distribution (the same family does not receive all the support)
Forms of support
We offer support in concrete forms so that it benefits children directly:
– support for hobbies (for example, paying fees directly to the provider)
– tickets to events and experiences
– hobby equipment
Partner network
We work with trusted providers, such as early childhood education services, schools, organisations and other professionals. Where necessary, they can recommend families for support.
Transparency
We monitor our activities and report to our partners on:
– how many children we reach
– what kind of support we provide
– which target groups receive the support
We always respect families’ privacy and do not collect or share unnecessary personal data.
